• The Gerontological Society of Americas (GSA) will hold their GSA Annual Meeting 2014 from November 5 – 9, 2014 in Washington DC (USA). This meeting will bring together the leading geriatricians and gerontologists as well as healthcare professionals in aging research to discuss the latest progress in this area. The Geriatric Medicine Society and the GSA are co-organizing a symposium on the “Evolving challenges in drug product development in increasingly older and complex patient populations.”
  • On September 17 – 19, 2014 the 10th Congress of the EUGMS will be held in Rotterdam (NL). The 10th Congress is themed “Geriatric Medicine Crossing Borders” and will be a combination of cutting-edge science and everyday practice across the different disciplines and topics.
  • The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) will gather for its AAPS Annual Meeting 2014 in San Diego, CA (USA) from November 2 – 6, 2014. The Annual Meeting is expected to be attended by about 9000 scientists from different disciplines to discuss the latest advances in pharmaceutical sciences. During the annual meeting it is planned to officially inaugurate a newly formed Focus Group dedicated to patient centric drug product development with a special focus on the geriatric patient population.
  • 4th Congress of the Clinical Section IAGG – European Region 2014 & 7th Academic Geriatric Congress 2014 will take place in Antalya (Turkey) from May 29 – 31, 2014. This congress will focus on the various aspects of geriatrics and is expected to be attended by healthcare professionals from Europe, Middle East and Asia.
  • The 9th Congress of the EUGMS will take place in Venice (Italy) on October 2 – 4, 2013. The congress is dedicated to improve the outcomes of geriatric medicines and treatments. More information is available on www.eugms2013.it.

  • The 9th Worldmeeting on Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology will take place in Lisbon (Portugal) on March 31 – April 3, 2014
    The Worldmeeting is the leading conference for pharmaceutical scientists in Europe, which is expected to gather around 1500 leading experts from around the world.     The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has organised a two-day workshop focused on safe and effective medicines for an ageing population bringing together different stakeholders, including EU public bodies, regulators, academic researchers, patient and healthcare professional representatives as well as representatives from the pharmaceutical industry.     The 3rd drug delivery and formulation summit will be held in Berlin on January 16-18, 2012, to which the Geriatric Medicine Society has contributed a session dedicated to geriatric medicines.
